Oregon Residential Energy Tax Credits

We love finding ways to help you save money on your HVAC systems and utility bills. One easy way to save is to utilize Oregon Residential Energy Tax Credits (RETC) when making a qualifying energy-efficient product or system purchase in the state of Oregon. Homeowners and renters can apply for a tax credit on their personal Oregon income taxes and save anywhere from $100 to $6,000!

Which Products Qualify?

Many of the energy-efficient systems and products that we carry may qualify. This includes the following products. Click on each one for more information:

Gas Furnaces
Ductless Heat Pumps
Geothermal Heat Pumps
Water Heaters*

How Do I Apply?

Columbia Heating & Cooling can help you navigate any necessary paperwork for your RETC! After purchasing and installing one of our qualified systems, you’ll fill out the corresponding tax credit application and submit it to the Oregon Department of Energy with your receipt or proof of purchase.

Applications

Applications for your qualifying energy efficient system can be found in the Energy Efficient Devices section via Oregon.Gov/Energy. There are downloadable applications and a list of specific qualifications on each corresponding product page.

Call us at (503) 624-2704 with any questions about qualifying for the RETC in Oregon!

*The cost of an energy-efficient water heater often outweighs the benefit of a water heater tax credit. We recommend purchasing a “standard” water heater. Contact us for more information.
